Shirley Ann Gully

Shirley Gully, 60, of Des Moines, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at her home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 13th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Survivors include her long-time companion, David Hayes of Des Moines; her children, Anthony (Nikki) of Des Moines; Brad (Sherry) of Fort Dodge; Robert Presswood of Des Moines; Marcus (Kamisha), Damon (Dotti), and Cornelius all of Fort Dodge; Felicia of Des Moines; Natasha (Terry) of Cedar Rapids; LaToya of Woodward; DeTria of Fort Dodge; 33 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Helen, Elaine, Carolyn Gully all of Fort Dodge; brothers, Benny and Shawn Gully both of Fort Dodge; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Irene (Clayton) Gully; brother, Charles Gully; sister, Jimmyneil Gully; and a grandson baby Kenny and an infant daughter. 1972, she was united in marriage to Robert Presswood, together they raised 10 children. The couple later separated. Shirley also worked at a hospital in Omaha, NE. She later moved to Des Moines where she spent her last years with David Hayes. She enjoyed spending time with her family, always calling to check on you. Shirley had an amazing, genuine, and loving soul. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
