as a position he found fulfilling and he loved working with the public. There was no greater patriot for his family, his country and his community than Russ. He loved Ponca, having served in many capacities to make his town better. He shared a quiet and constant faith in God, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church for seventy plus years. He was a passionate member of the Ponca American Legion Post 117 for 70 years, a former director of the Nebr. Assn. of County Officials, the Ponca Commercial Club, and various other organizations. Russ lived a grand life full of the love of family and friends. He felt forever blessed. Survivors include his wife, Helen; brother, Dwight (Del) Fleury; children, Diane Holgate, Myron (Angela) Fleury, Roger (Pam) Fleury, and Marcia (Ed) Mahon; grandchildren, Colby (Caroline) and Casey White, Sam (Ann), Nick (Krista) and Jesse (Erin) Fleury, Megan and Marc Fleury, Zach and Cole Mahon; and seven great-grandchildren. Russ was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Jesse Fleury: and siblings, Cleo (Tom) Craig, Carol (Al) Siss, Raymond (Iris) Fleury and Bob Fleury. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for designation to be made at a later time.
