Gregory S. Sampson, 65, of Oneida, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 due to a long battle with renal failure and a recent aggressive lung cancer diagnosis. He was born on January 16, 1950, in West Bend, WI, to the late George & Christie (MacDonald) Sampson. Greg was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids and later Devry Institute of Technology in Chicago. After graduation he went to work for Bell Labs. He later worked for Wausau Insurance and for the past 25 years, AC Nielsen. He married the love of his life, Mary LaCombe on October 3, 1981, at St. Joseph Parish in Marinette. Greg was a true witness of Christ. He was a kind, loving, generous, positive and patient man. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and brother-in-law. Family was the most important thing to him. Greg enjoyed fishing, gardening and was proud of his lawn. He was a longtime member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church and sang in the choir. mussen, and John (Cheryl) LaCombe; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Pete Rasmussen and Mark LaCombe. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of Memorial Mass at 11:00am on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Drive. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Greg's name. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of St. Vincent Dialysis, Green Bay Oncology and Unity Hospice for their care of Greg during his illnesses.
