Carol A. Sattler

Madison - Carol Ann Sattler, 69, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Madison on November 16, 2015. Carol was born in Falls Creek, PA to James and Lucille Hinderliter on September 23, 1946. She graduated from DuBois Area High School in 1964 and earned a B.A. degree in Biology from Thiel College in 1968. She received a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Colorado where she met her husband Gerald (Jerry). The two wed in DuBois, PA on August 8th, 1971. Thereafter, Carol embarked on her life's work as an Electron Microscopist and well published cancer researcher while working for the University of Wisconsin-Madison for over 30 years. In her personal time she had a passion for cooking, dining with friends and colleagues, and supporting her sons in their many activities. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, James and Lucille. She is survived by her husband Jerry; her sister Judy Hinderliter-Smith (David) of Durham, NC; her sons Matthew (Cathy) of Fort Collins, CO, and Andrew (Katie) of Milwaukee, WI; and two granddaughters, Anna and Andi.
