Donald J. Collins

Madison - Donald J. "Spider" Collins, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at St. Mary's Care Center. He was born on May 12, 1933 to Elizabeth Sullivan Collins and LaVerne Smalley in Madison. Donald attended St. Rafael's Catholic School and Edgewood High School. He served in the Korean War. Donald worked for many years at the University Bookstore. He enjoyed sports and played city league softball well into his 50's, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Donald is survived by his three daughters, Colleen (Oscar) Ramirez of Madison, Kathy (Andy) Coutts of Eden Prairie, MN, and Jennifer (Chris) Wagner of Slinger; and his grandchildren, Amanda and Alexa Ramirez, Avery and Ellery Coutts, and Pierce, Gillianne and Maya Wagner. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison.
