Arthur Allen Kerr

Funeral services for Arthur Kerr, 86, of Wallingford will be 10:30 a.m., Friday at the United Methodist Church in Graettinger. Burial is in Valley View Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the Joyce-Alesch Funeral Home in Graettinger. Arthur Allen Kerr was born August 3, 1929 in St. Croix, Wisconsin. He completed this life January 10, 2016 at his home in Wallingford, Iowa. At a very young age Arthur's family moved to Graettinger, during his childhood he worked with his mother and siblings at the Kerr's Creamery. On November 2, 1946, he was united in marriage to Wanda Virginia Powers in Fairmont, Minnesota. Art and Wanda enjoyed their 65 years together in Osgood, Graettinger, and Wallingford, Iowa. Throughout their lives together, they enjoyed summers at their home on Leech Lake, Minnesota. During his life he worked at the Estherville Packing Plants, farmed (which he disliked greatly) in Osgood, the Spencer Packing Plant, and was co-owner of The Merchant Mariner in Longville, Minnesota. ; loved to play cards and attend auctions. He had a great passion for collecting clocks. After retirement, he enjoyed being the caretaker of family and friends properties around Leech Lake. He made his final return from the beloved home on Leech Lake to Wallingford in late September, 2015. Left to cherish his memory are his Daughters: Linda (Delbert) Mickelson of Wallingford, Iowa; Sandra (David) Wolf of Belvidere, Illinois; and Cindy Kerr-Moisuk of Douglasville, Georgia. Grandchildren: Kelly (Manuel) Reyes; Mindy (Lonnie) Hockett; Kevin (Jennifer) Wolf; Melissa (Dominic) Kirui. 8 Great Grandchildren. 3 Great Great Grandchildren. Sister: Lois Olesen; Sisters-in-law: Doris Kerr, Marian (Asa) Candler, Marilyn Powers; Brother-in-law: Allen (Roberta) Powers; many loved Nieces, Nephews and good friends. Arthur is preceded in Heaven by his wife Wanda; Parents: Howard M.
