James Bevard

James Leo "Jim" Bevard, 72, of Keokuk, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Jim was born August 7, 1943, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Glen and Mary E. Allison Bevard. On July 20, 1984, he was united in marriage to Karla Kayser in Keokuk, Iowa. She survives. Jim lived in Keokuk most of his life and had been employed at Griffin Wheel, retiring in 2005. He enjoyed life, spending time at the lake, collecting coins and loved animals. Jim volunteered at the Keokuk Humane Society. He mostly enjoyed his family and spending time with them. Jim is survived by his wife Karla of Keokuk, Iowa, one son David Bevard of Springdale, Arkansas; daughter Debra Bevard of Keokuk, Iowa; four grandchildren: Edward Steele, Sara Steel, James Burgess all of Keokuk, Iowa and Lesley Bevard of Springdale, Arkansas; three great grandchildren; three brothers: Bill (Rita) Bevard of Fulton, Missouri, Ron (Linda) Bevard and Larry (Karen) Bevard both of Keokuk, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.
