Richard Walsh

Richard J. Walsh, 60, of Burlington died at 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Morning Sun Care Center. Born January 28, 1949 in Burlington, he was the son of John Forest and Dora Ann Tubbs Walsh. On July 27, 1978 he married Denise Stevens in Davenport. Mr. Walsh was a welder for various places. He was of the Catholic faith. He loved fishing and hunting and also mushroom hunting. He was a great cook who loved cooking. Mr. Walsh is survived by his wife, Denise of Burlington; three daughters Melissa (Chad) Roscum of Burlington, Pam and June; one son, Richard; two grandchildren Brayden and Gavin and several other grandchildren; three brothers, David Walsh of Texas, Edward Walsh of Alabama and Thomas Walsh of Burlington; two sisters, Nancy Henry of Burlington and Kathy Beckman of Hutchinson, Kansas; aunt, Joann Tubbs of Burlington and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter. . The Reverend Dean Graber will officiate. Following the funeral service the body of Mr. Walsh will be cremated. Inurnment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established.
