Darlene E. Trusty, 85, of Fort Dodge, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Darlene is survived by her husband, Conrad; children, Keith (Carla) Trusty of Ponca, NE; Nancy (Roger) DeVries of Milford; Diane Schulz of LaPorte City; Joan (Don) Portz of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, June (Duane) Zierke of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lillie (Lundgren) Carlson; and her very special aunt and uncle, Carl and Nina Johnson. Darlene Esther Carlson was born August 20, 1930 in Fort Dodge. She attended country schools in the Callender area, graduating from Burnside High School in 1948. Following her education, Darlene was employed with Fort Dodge Labs, Union Trust Bank, and Tierney Electric. ear of marriage in Alexandria, LA. Darlene and Conrad moved back to Fort Dodge, and Darlene became a full-time homemaker. She also worked for the election board for her chosen precinct for many years. Darlene enjoyed travelling, camping and treasured time spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had many dogs throughout the years and loved each one unconditionally. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
