Sharon Long

Ms. Sharon Long-Smith, 53, of Hico, Texas and formerly of Ft. Madison and Burlington died Sunday, January 24, 2016, at her daughter's home. Born August 13, 1962 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Leland and Alice (Wehage) Long. Ms. Long was a 1980 graduate of Mediapolis High School. She was a homemaker and was of the Lutheran faith. She enjoyed crocheting, camping and fishing and loved being with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her three children, Erika (Justin) Benedict of West Liberty, Matthew Long of Hico, Texas and Sherri (Charles) Kinney of Hico, Texas; five grandchildren, Destiney, Mason, Cougar, Linken and Deklan; her mother, Alice Long of Burlington; one step brother, Dennis Manes and one step sister, Diana Rock. She was preceded in death by her father, sister, Junille Jones, one step brother, Jeff Manes and her step father, Charlie Manes. The memorial funeral service for Ms. Long will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 3rd, at Peace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kathleen Wohlers officiating.
