Marilyn Marcella Bechtel, 91, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. She was born on April 14, 1924, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Clem and Clara (Trumm) Revenig. Marilyn was united in marriage to Dale Bechtel on September 15, 1945, in Dubuque. She was a homemaker and owned Bectel's Coffee Shop in Hampton. Marilyn was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Franklin General Hospital Auxiliary and a mothers club in Hampton. She was a strong (physically/emotionally/spiritually) woman, who was loved by her four children, ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who will all miss her straightforward comments and cooking: especially her noodles, German potato salad and raisin bread. Marilyn was also known as quite the seamstress, able to create anything with thread and cloth, and was also very crafty. Her ninety-one years were well lived and saw many changes that she would make sure to let you know what she thought. She especially loved spending time with family and friends.
