ith D.A. Johnson who gave him his start auctioning household goods, and working numerous farm sales and livestock sales. Later, Don worked for Howard Myers from 1960-71 and at the Winterset Sale Barn for Dennis and Sheryl Gomez. Don loved his communities and was involved in 4-H, Shenandoah Elks Lodge, Eagles Club, Shenandoah Chamber and Industry and Livestock Marketing Assn. Don loved all sports slow and fast pitch softball where he pitched and caught, golf and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs Fan. Don was preceded in death by his parents Gladys and Millard Stripe, and infant brother Maynard Dwayne Stripe and his father-in-law John Deutsch. Survivors include his loving wife Becky; their children, Jon Anthony Stripe and his wife Mindy of Essex, Iowa, Terri Dianne Perry and husband Philip of Omaha, Nebraska, and Lonnie Carl Stripe and wife Lisa of Humeston, Iowa; grandchildren, Amanda and Alex Stripe, Matthew, Kyle, and Erin Perry, Alyssa and Alexa Stripe; sisters, Janet Sponsler and husband Rex and Barbara Stripe both of Des Moines, Iowa; brother Gary Stripe and wife Sandy of Garden Grove, Iowa; mother-in-law Doris Colclasure of Bloomington, Illinois; brother-in-law Garry Colclasure of Roanoke, Illinois; along with other relatives and many friends. The Stripe Family asks that you wear your auction attire to the service. Memorials may be directed to Farragut Fire & Rescue, Farragut United Methodist Church or Donor's Choice. Burial will be held at the Farragut Cemetery in Farragut.
