Anna J Ertle

Yorktown- Anna Jane Ertle, age 84 passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 16, 2016 after a long and hard fight battle with breast cancer. Anna was born on August 12, 1931 to Irene and Henry King of Muncie, IN. Anna attended Muncie Burris High School. She married the love of her life, James R. Ertle on August 15th, 1948 with him they raised their three sons in Muncie. She was a member of the Normal City United Methodist Church and Loved attending services with her mother and her three young sons. After her husband's death in 1998, Anna moved into the Pilgrim Place Retirement Home in Yorktown, Indiana. She enjoyed 13 years at Pilgrim Place where she felt safe, secure, and surrounded by friends. After her husband's retirement in 1984 from Delco Remy in Muncie, they enjoyed their time by taking several two or three day trips with their dog stretch. The grandchildren became their world and they both cherished every moment with them. Anna enjoyed the travel, eating out and the simple joys of having her family close, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. tes Navy and the two young sons both retired from the United States Air Force after long and successful careers. Anna is survived by her children, Wayne (Debbie) Ertle, Yorktown, IN, James R. (Special Friend Diana Hines) Ertle, Muncie, IN, and Ronald R. Ertle, San Angelo, Texas; grandchildren Marcie (Matt) Holbrook, Jodie (Dwight) Miller, Amy (Justin Stewart) Ertle, Karen (Brent) Prater, James Ertle, and Jennifer Ertle; several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Pilgrim Place in Yorktown, and the many special friends Mom bonded with while living there. The family would also like to acknowledge the Ball Memorial, I. U. Hospice program for their compassion, guidance and caring during our Mothers time of need. The Hospice employees are truly special people. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Services to celebrate the life of Anna will be Monday, March 21, 2016 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W.
