Joseph Jenkins

Joseph T. Jenkins, age 71, of Manchester Township, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 12, 1945 to Garland Jenkins and his wife Marian (nee: Lewandowski) in Newark, N.J., Joseph lived in Irvington, Maplewood, and Belford before moving to Manchester Township thirty-eight years ago. He served in the Vietnam War for the United States Air Force and worked in the construction industry for most of his life. For the past several years, he was employed as a security guard for Six Flags Great Adventure. Mr. Jenkins is survived by his loving wife, Katherine (Kathy); four children Joseph T. Jenkins Jr. and his wife Carol of Bayville, Mindy Jenkins of Point Pleasant, Derek Jenkins of Bayville, and Ryan Jenkins of Brick; nine grandchildren, Dylan, Isabella, Gabriella, Alex, Trevor, Jeremiah, Tyler, Jake, and Travis; and many other family and friends. Cremation is private and entrusted to Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, N.J. 08755.
