e years, he left his Fort Lauderdale home just after six each morning to make the hour-long commute to Miami, returning home late each evening. Ed was a former chairman of the board of WPBT-TV (public television in Miami), chairman of the Community Foundation of Broward, past president of the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale, and a trustee of the Miami City Ballet. Mr. Huston was an "audit committee financial expert" as defined by the SEC and served on the boards and audit committees of several companies including Ryder System, Unisys Corporation, Enterasys Networks, Inc. Kaman Corporation and the Tennenbaum Opportunity Fund. For the past twenty years, Ed and Jane split their time between Fort Lauderdale and their home in Deer Valley, Utah. Ed loved travel, fine dining and Coco, Dolly and Lilly, his standard poodles. Ed's brilliant mind was matched by his wit and kind heart. He was as nice as he was smart. An avid sports enthusiast, Ed never missed watching the end of a televised sporting event to be on time for a dinner date. Surviving are his wife, the former Jane Nicholas; a brother, John (Kathy) of Chicago; nephews and nieces Brian (Maria Christina), Brady (Becky), Sara Herford (Mike) all of Chicago along with nine grandnephews and grandnieces. Visitation will be held Monday, May 9, 2016 from 9 to 10 AM at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 2000 Marietta Drive, Fort Lauderdale. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10 AM at the church .
