ist Church in Stratford. He served 12 years on the Stratford School Board and five years on the Stratford Kids Academy Day Care Board and was a past-president of both. He was a PUFL member of Post #576 of the F.W. Sonksen American Legion in Stratford, a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, a former member of the Stratford Bit and Spur Saddle Club, a former Small Engine Project Leader in Hamilton County 4-H. He started Santa's Cottage in Stratford and the Farmers Market in Webster City. In September of 2012, a metal park bench dedicated in Fred's honor was placed in the City Plaza in Webster City where the Farmers Market is held. Fred and Lois jointly received the LaVerne and Pauline Leeds Community Service Award in January of 2001. He drove a Stratford School Bus for 18 years after his first retirement as a tractor mechanic. Fred was proud to be a 4-Gallon Blood Donor. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lois, son Jack (Jane Felts) of Webster City; step-daughter, Diane Love of Des Moines; step-sons, David Angstrom of Huntington Beach, CA, Brian (Sherri) Angstrom of Ames, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren with number 19 planning an appearance later this year; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Don Helgevold of Denver, CO; sisters-in-law, Jane Loux of Clarion, Carol Helgevold of Fort Dodge; daughter-in-law, Donna Osborn of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lyle Osborn on September 6, 2003; brothers, Richard Osborn and Jestin "Jock" Osborn; sisters, Alvina Ewing, Elsie Barton, Constance Dally; nieces, Betty Davis, Dolores Bergman, Mildred Cummins; nephew, Wayne Osborn; brothers-in-law, Kent Helgevold and Keith Loux.
