Richard L. ?Dick? Johnson, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away June 25, 2006. He was born in Vallejo, CA to the late Eldred and Madonna (Carney) Johnson on May 6, 1943. When he was eleven years old the family moved to North Dakota. Dick was the Star Quarterback his senior year, leading his school to a State victory. He received his Bachelor?s Degree from the University of North Dakota, and his Master Degree in English from Whittier College. He moved back to California in 1965 where he was a teacher and coach. During this time he also received his Law Degree from Hastings Law School.
Richard moved to Indianapolis to practice law for Krieg DeVault, LLP. He was a founding member of Johnson-Smith law firm, and recently was a partner with Barnes & Thornburg.
Dick is survived by his wife, Diane Johnson; his three daughters, Christy (Jeff) Crow, Stephanie (Alfredo) Alias, and Alanna Johnson; one brother, Bob (Gail) Johnson; a grandson, Quincy Crow; and his nieces and nephew.
