Mary Rita Sheehan

Mary Rita Sheehan, nee Gootee, age 94, loving mother and grandmother, passed away March 22, 2016. She was born on September 19, 1921 in Loogootee, IN to the late William and Mary "Molly" (Borders) Gootee. She was a talented artist who spent many years painting canvases and mastered the art of porcelain/china painting in her later years. Her artistry crossed over into gardening. She always produced the most beautiful flowers, which brought her much joy. Mary is survived by her son, F. Paul (Jane) Sheehan; daughters, Marilyn (Mark) Haag, Jill (Mark) Bonnett, and Patrice (Mike) Schroeder; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis P. Sheehan, grandson, Michael P. Schroeder, brothers and sisters, Victor Gootee, Leo Gootee, Genevieve Haigerty, Dorothy Hoeing, and Wilma Aull. Mary was a member of St. Louis de Montfort Church in Fishers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at Our Lady of Mt.
