.Eric Andrew Volk Eric A. Volk passed away on May 31st, 2015, at the age of 51. He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Rebecca Boatman Volk and daughter, Sarah Volk. The youngest of six children, Eric was born on August 26th, 1963 in Overland Park, Kansas to Constance and Herman Volk. Eric graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1981. While at SMS, Eric, a left-handed pitcher led his team to win the Kansas State Baseball Championship his senior year. Eric attended Purdue University on a baseball scholarship. He continued his baseball career as a pitcher for the Purdue Boilermakers. Eric graduated from Purdue's Krannert School of Management in 1985 with a degree in Management and Finance. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. As a proud Boilermaker, Eric served as the president of the Purdue Alumni of Indianapolis Club in 1999. Eric began his career in sales, most notably with Knorr Soups & Sauces where he won numerous awards. ink Lime. Though Eric settled in Indianapolis to raise his family, he never forgot his Kansas roots as an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and KC Royals. Eric leaves behind many, many friends and was the favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews. Eric's last selfless act was to donate his organs so that others could live and thrive. Through this generous donation, he helped or saved over 70 lives. Eric was preceded in death by his parents Connie and Hank Volk and sister Virginia Volk. He is survived by his wife, Becky, and daughter Sarah Volk; brothers John Volk (Kim), Dieter Volk (Laurie), Dick Volk (Becky) and sister, Beth Volk; in-laws Jane Boatman Geller (Greg), Scott Boatman (Cindy), Matt Boatman (Wendy) and 18 nieces and nephews. The calling will be held at Leppert Morturary Nora Chapel, 740 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, from 5pm to 8pm on Monday, June 8, 2015. The funeral will be held at St. Pius X, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis, at 11am on Tuesday June 9, 2015.
