Scott Wesley Cook of Indianapolis died suddenly in his home of a heart attack on Wednesday, March 9. He was 36 years old. Scott is survived by his much loved wife, April Smith-Cook, and a much loved son, Henry Lashawn Cook, age six months. He also leaves behind his grieving parents, Dr. David and Lynda Cook, his brother, Brian, his Second Mother Elizabeth Roffey, and his Sort-of-Brother and Best Friend Julien Roffey, his mother-in-law Algene Smith and brother-in-law, Eddie Smith, a sister-in-law, Veronica Carpenter, aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and friends. Scott was born at Methodist Hospital on June 22, 1979. He attended the Bureau of Jewish Education Preschool and Kindergarten, St. Thomas Aquinas for grade school, Bishop Chatard High School, and Ball State University. He graduated from Ball State with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Criminology. Scott always wanted to be in law enforcement, and following his education he was employed by the Delaware County Sheriff's Department as a Corrections Officer for many years and as a patrolman in Eaton, Indiana.
