Robert C. "Bob" Whitlock, 73 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on October 24th, 2013. Bob was born June 3rd, 1940 in South Bend, Indiana to George and Jessie Whitlock; they preceded him in death. Bob was a 1958 graduate of Bremen High School and graduated from Ball State University in 1962 as a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army after graduation from college. He managed the Connersville office of Lingle Real Estate before buying a 70-acre farm and trying his hand at farming. This entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Whitlock's Pressure Wash in 1980. Throughout his career he was known for his character, integrity, and hard work. He retired earlier this year. As a young man, Bob skied all summer on Dewart Lake where he helped his dad build the family cottage in 1949. His practice paid off as he was a champion water skier. He taught water skiing at Culver Academy, and enjoyed working on cars, houses, and other hobby projects. Bob loved to fly and was an avid private pilot earning his instrument rating. . Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. He cherished being around his children and grandchildren laughing at family stories. Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol (Smith) Whitlock; sons, Scott and wife Kim, Shawn and wife Gracie, and sons Steve, and Skipp. Also surviving are his nine grandchildren, Jessica, Jack, Emma, Mae, Millie, Joe, Noah, Della, and Marlee; his sister and brother-in-law JoAnn and David Sellers; sister-in-law Lynn Nestler, and mother-in-law Lura Smith. A special thank you to the many friends and family who supported Bob and the Whitlock family with their prayers. The family also wishes to pay tribute to the compassionate and professional staff at Community Heart Hospital. Visitation will begin at 1pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, with a memorial service beginning at 3:00pm.
