Clifford Vincent Brown

Clifford V. Brown, 91, of Tabor, IA, passed away on May 18, 2016 at the Tabor Manor Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern with burial in the Hastings Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, May 23, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Malvern. Memorials are directed to the family. Clifford Vincent Brown, one of nine children of Thomas Vincent and Mabel Adelle (Sharp) Brown, was born on June 10, 1924 in Cherry County, Nebraska where he grew up and attended school. Clifford worked as the manager of the Union 76 Truck Stop (now TA) in Council Bluffs, Iowa until his retirement. Clifford and Barbara Jean Dolan were married on January 1, 1949 in Oelrichs, South Dakota. They made their home in Council Bluffs and their marriage was blessed with two sons, Howard and Russell. Clifford loved to watch baseball and rodeos. He enjoyed tinkering, woodworking and making various craft items. age of 91 years, 11 months, and 8 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eva Brown, Virginia Grooms and Hazel Lolly; and brothers, Gerald Brown and Willard Brown. Clifford is survived by his wife Barbara of Tabor; sons, Howard Brown and wife Donna of Hastings, IA, and Russell Brown of Rapid City, SD; three granddaughters, Sharon Wilson, Staci Miller, and Traci Ross; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Delores Castle of Chapel, NE, Carmelita Edwards of Scottsbluff, NE, and Norma Bartlett of Valentine, NE; nieces and nephews; and extended relatives and friends.
