Audrey F. Jaeger

Mrs. Audrey F. Jaeger, 89, of Burlington died at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at The Madison in Fort Madison. Born February 16, 1927 in Wapello, she was the daughter of Harry Edwin and Mary McKinley (Thompson) Moyer. On June 13, 1943 she married L.R. McClaren and they later divorced. On March 15, 1952 she married Fredrich Arthur Jaeger in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1995. Mrs. Jaeger was a 1972 graduate of Burlington High School. She worked in production at Sylvania from 1952 until 1959 and then as an assembly wire person at General Electric for 20 years before retiring in 1992. Mrs. Jaeger was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and crafts. Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl A. Olson and Dawn M. Helmick both of Burlington; two sons, Randy J. Jaeger and Steve D. Jaeger both of Burlington; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister. . The funeral service for Mrs. Jaeger will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 23rd, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Dean Graber officiating. Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
