Rev. Nancy Jane Lashmit, 72, of Tipton, changed addresses and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 12:10 am, Saturday, May 21, 2016 while she stayed in Cedar Manor. A memorial fund in Nancy's honor has been established. In honoring Nancy's final request, there will be no services.
Nancy was born November 2, 1943 in Cedar Rapids to Vergil Eugene and Venetta Lazetta (Stiles) Griffis. She graduated from Tipton High School with the class of 1962 and then attended and graduated in 1966 from Mt. Vernon Bible College in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Nancy was an ordained minister of the International Church of Foursquare Gospel and co-pastored the Calvary Foursquare Church in Tipton from 1982 to 2000 with her husband Ron.
On July 4, 1964 Nancy was united in marriage to Ronald E. Lashmit in Tipton, Iowa. Together they were blessed with 3 sons: Ronald II, Philip and Charles. In addition to being a minister, mother and wife, Nancy was proud of her title as, "Grandma".
