Morris, John E. Sr. "Jack" Began his journey home on Friday, June 10, 2016. Age 89. Beloved husband and best friend of Leatrice (nee Baumann) for 68 years. Unforgettable father of John E. (Janet) Morris Jr. and PennyLea (George) Mackie. Devoted grandpa of John Mikel (Julia) Morris, Joseph James (Danielle) Morris, Benjamin Morris Seferovich and Ira Morris Seferovich. Great-grandpa of Evan, Dylan, Savannah and James. Dear brother of Thomas Howell (Gloria) Morris Jr. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, WI Tuesday, June 14 from 12 noon until time of Service at 1 PM. Interment Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Angels Grace Hospice appreciated. Jack graduated from Nathan Hale High School, West Allis, WI, 1944. He immediately went into service with the Navy Sea Bees, a construction battalion, and he served in the Phillipines until the end of WWII. Later he became secretary in 1997 for the 63rd Sea Bee Battalion, for the annual gathering. He also wrote a newsletter for the battalion from 1997 - 2012. Wisconsin Bell Telephone, where he worked for 36 years. He started as an installer,and foreman, supervisor, and finally a manager. Retired in 1982. Boy Scout leader, starting a troop locally in New Berlin in 1963, later was scoutmaster for a Explorer troop until 1969. Secretary of the Cleveland Heights school 1956 (originally Hunkins School ... 1-room) and was instrumental in the school expanding from a one room to a five room school. On the school board until the system consolidated in 1959. One of the founders of the New Berlin Toastmasters Club in the 1960's. He served on the New Berlin Park and Recreation Department for 23 years, serving as President for 18 years. Designed and wrote the pamphlets for NB summer recreation programs. He designed commemorative ash trays for the Boy Scouts presented as awards (hey... it was the 60's). In 1987, Jack was made Citizen of the Year in New Berlin. Member of the Gymanfa Ganu association of Wisconsin, designed their posters for the Welsh Hymn - Singing groups that met at Presbyterian Churches around Wisconsin several times a year.
