an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tipton, the Cedar County Democrats and the Council of Catholic Women, Davenport Diocese. Walt and Eleanor spent many years visiting with family and dancing. They definitely were dancers! Eleanor considered her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to be her greatest blessings. Eleanor is survived by her husband Walt; four daughters, Janet (Gary) Pasold, Clarence; JoEllen (Mark) Cook, Mechanicsville, Julie (Mike) Tharp, Lowden, and Jacqueline (Scott) Bohlen, Durant; three sons, Jerry (Mary) Droll, Clarence, John (Deb) Droll, Ridgedale, MO and James (Kay) Droll, Stanwood. Also surviving are three sisters, Rita Jenn, Hills, Janelle Marek, Kalona and Mary Marek, Hills; three brothers, Robert (Doris) Ruth, Hills, Leo (Shirley) Ruth, Ely, and Eugene (Doris) Ruth, Riverside; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Paul, Donald and Richard Ruth, and one grandson, Jayce Droll In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to St. Mary's Church, Tipton. The family would like to thank the Clarence Senior Living Center and Hospice of Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids for their compassionate care. Eleanor was a genuinely beautiful and giving person and will be missed by many family members and numerous friends, especially her dear caregivers at the Clarence Nursing Home and Clarence Assisted Living. In Eleanor's honor, if you choose, please wear a touch of purple, which was her favorite color.
