Harvey Wayne Fisher

Mr. Harvey Wayne Fisher, 75, of Burlington and formerly of Fort Madison, died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born December 10, 1940 in Cresco, he was the son of Henry Fisher and Sara (Coleman) Fisher Weaver. On February 16, 1963 he married Sharon K. Mercer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Madison. Harvey was a graduate of Burlington High School. He was a welder for J.I. Case Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He also worked at Industrial Tooling for 12 years following his retirement. Harvey was a member of SS John and Paul Catholic Church and UAW Local #807. He enjoyed doing body work on cars, fishing, Harleys and guns. Family was always #1. He was liked by all and he loved his dogs, Lollee and Tinkerbell. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sharon K. Fisher of Burlington; three daughters, Dianna (Dan) Hicks of Burlington, Brenda (Todd) Knobloch of Cresco and Kristi (James) Feeney of Wever; five grandchildren, Steven R. The memorial funeral service for Harvey will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 6th, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Father Marty Goetz officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials have been established for Des Moines County Humane Society, Great River Hospice House and SS John and Paul Catholic Church. Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
