s envied by many. She also enjoyed quilting, family genealogy, rock collecting, and stamp collecting. Alan and Mary spent many winters traveling and enjoyed spending time in Texas visiting with family and friends. Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mechanicsville, the Cedar County Genealogical Society, Red Hat Women's Club, as well as many other organizations in her younger years. Mary is survived by her seven children and their families: MaryBeth (Rob) Bixler, Mt. Pleasant, Barbara Weets, Mechanicsville, Carl (Leah) Weets, Lake Creek, TX, Steve (Teresa) Weets, Mechanicsville, Ben Weets (Pam), Tipton, Janine (Kevin) Sulzner, Anamosa, and Susan (Adam) Robinson, Mechanicsville. Eighteen grandchildren: Brandi Bixler, Aaron (Michelle) Bixler, Ontario Caudill (Nathan Richardson), Katie (Matt) Byrd, Kristie Weets, Ethan Colley, Cutter Weets, Alan J. Weets, Sally Weets, Stacey Weets, Lauren (Mike) Diettrich, William Weets, Dallas Weets, Christopher (Stephanie) Sulzner, Nathan (Lauren) Sulzner, Jacob (Ashton) Sulzner, Sarah (Dan) Downing, Daniel Robinson (Samantha Handley); and twelve great-grandchildren (with one on the way). Her sister Helen Kinrade, Pineville NC, brother in law Harold (Dolores) Weets, sister-in-law Janette Weets, and her uncle "Buster" Laverne Herkelman. She kept touch with her numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews through Facebook. She was preceded in death by her husband Alan in 2006, her parents, and her sister Zelda Dostal. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Mechanicsville.
