Janet Wahle Swearingen

Janet W. Swearingen of Indianapolis, 83, passed away July 14, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born in Chicago, IL to LeRoy L. and Mary Sue (Campbell) Wahle in 1933. She graduated from Shortridge High School in 1951 and Denison University in 1955. She was active in P.E.O., Day Nursery Auxiliary and Northminster Presbyterian Church. She also served as a leader for both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She is survived by her husband, Frank Edward Swearingen and their children, James Edward (Tracy Dentel) Swearingen, Alice Marie (Douglas Kent) Stinebaugh, and Peggy Sue (David Keith) Burris; and grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Hesterberg, Jada Qiu Liang Swearingen, Kathryn Diane Stinebaugh, Daniel Wahle Stinebaugh, Benjamin Campbell Burris and Cameron Arthur Burris. Visitation with family and friends will be at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1660 Kessler Boulevard East Drive, Indianapolis from noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 18 with a celebration of life following at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Day Nursery Auxiliary 615 N.
