Marcella M. Johnson

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016, from 4-6 p.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Bancroft. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Winnebago, Minnesota at a later date. Marcella May Johnson was born April 13, 1925, in Winnebago, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward and Theresa (Slutner) Slama. She grew up in Winnebago and graduated from the Winnebago High School. On November 5, 1949, Marcella was united in marriage to Albert Johnson in Winnebago, Minnesota. They later moved to Lakota in 1955. After Albert's death Marcella remained in Lakota until moving to Britt. Marcella loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, making crafts, traveling and wintering in Arizona. She was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Marcella died Monday, July 18, 2016, at the Westview Care Center in Britt. She was 91.
