William G. Pearce August 8, 1920-July 24, 2016 Bill Pearce, 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and caregivers. Bill was born in Pennsylvania but spent most of his adult life in Northwest Indiana. He was a proud Navy veteran of World War II. He was a successful entrepreneur, owning two different meat market/ grocery stores. His most successful venture was the Beef Mart in Portage, IN. He sold his store and loved playing golf with family and friends and working at the golf course in various capacities. But his favorite occupation was being a grandpa and he loved every minute spent with his grandkids. Bill moved to Carmel, IN with his wife, Mary, and sister-in-law Pauline in 2002 to be closer to family. Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Mary. He is survived by his six children: Bill, Jim (Jody), Mary Ellen (Michael) Ball, Donna (Dan) Ornelas, Kathy (Tim) Tsouchlos, and Paula. Bill was blessed with nine grandchildren Sarah (John) Scheidler, Emily (Russel) Bible, Kevin and Brian Ball, Caitlin Ornelas, Maribeth (Justin) Flynn, Carissa and Adam Tsouchlos, and Ryan Pearce. His children and grandchildren will greatly miss his love and support. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers Bill had during the last year or so of his life. There will be a calling at Leppert Funeral Home at 740 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240 on Monday, August 1st at 2:30 P.M. A celebration of Bill's life will follow immediately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the USO of Indiana, P.O. Box 441160, Indianapolis, IN 46244 in honor of his military service.
