Susan Jane Bastian

Susan Jane (Stark) Bastian of Indianapolis passed away on July 31, 2016. She was born January 25, 1931, to the late Elgan C. and Imogene (Pierson) Stark, and was the step-daughter of the late Edith (Watson) Stark. Susan attended John Strange Grade School, Broad Ripple High School, and DePauw University where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree of Music. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Mu Phi Epsilon, and Tri Kappa. Susan sang in church choirs for over 70 years. She taught piano lessons over 40 years. She was a Girl Scout leader for her three daughters. She enjoyed driving her five children to their many activities, cooking, and home making. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, and her best friend Bill Bastian, daughter Sally Bastian, son Bill (Nan) Bastian, son David Bastian, daughter Sandra Bastian McCoy, and daughter Kristin Bastian Summers; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister Roselyn Gene McComb, brother the late John (Barbara) Stark, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Visitation will be on Friday August 5th at Leppert Mortuary - Nora Chapel, located at 740 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a Service to be held at 1:00 PM.
