Donald Lee Phillips, 67, of Marengo, Iowa, passed away at 12:58 AM Monday, August 8, 2016, at Lexington Square in Keokuk.
Donald was born September 27, 1948, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Louis Wesley and Nellie Lucille Salyers Phillips. Don graduated from Iowa Valley High School. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, and bowling and was a fan of John Wayne and Elvis.
He is survived by nine brothers and sisters, Linda Olson of Marengo, Iowa, and Tina (Mike) Corkrean of Winterset, Iowa; brother Larry (Yong) Phillips of New Braunfels, Texas; four sisters, Lucretia O'Donell of Des Moines, Iowa, Lucinda Murphy of Truro, Iowa, Rose Stephenson of Truro, Iowa, Sue Cochran of Columbia, Missouri, and two brothers Carl Rucker Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri, and Reuben "Burt" Rucker of Winterset, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his adoptive parents Melvin and Grace Phillips; brother in infancy Otho Wesley Philips; grandparents John and May Phillips and Otho and Lena (Bane) Salyers; and numerous aunts and uncles.
