Oletha Chamness, 82, of Blairsburg, Iowa passed away at her home in Blairsburg on Thursday, September 1, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City, Iowa with Pastor Jeff Flagg, officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center in Webster City, Iowa. Oletha Lary was born in Melrose, New Mexico on February 13, 1934 to Calvin Lee and Hazel Alie Conwill Lary. She attended school in Melrose, New Mexico. Oletha married Perry Bernard Chamness in New Mexico on December 22, 1952. Oletha worked various jobs over the years. Upon Perry's retirement, the couple moved to Hollywood, Florida then to Linden, Tennessee and moved to rural Blairsburg, Iowa in 1998. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Oletha enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and cards, quilting, canning, gardening, going to the casino and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family.
