Frank Edward Swearingen of Indianapolis passed away August 30, 2016 at the age of 85. Ed was born in Louisville, KY to Frank and Edna (Tuemler) Swearingen in 1931. He graduated from Shortridge High School in 1949 and Hanover College in 1953. Ed served in the United States Army at the end of the Korean conflict where he was a Corporal in a MASH unit.
He was a District Manager at Indiana Bell Telephone Company. He was also an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and a Trustee among several other positions.
Ed was recently preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Janet Wahle Swearingen. He is survived by his children, James Edward (Tracy Dentel) Swearingen, Alice Marie (Douglas Kent) Stinebaugh, and Peggy Sue (David Keith) Burris; and grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Hesterberg, Jada Qiu Liang Swearingen, Kathryn Diane Stinebaugh, Daniel Wahle Stinebaugh, Benjamin Campbell Burris and Cameron Arthur Burris.
Visitation with family and friends will be at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1660 Kessler Boulevard East Drive, Indianapolis from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 10 with a celebration of life following at 1:30 p.m. In lieu...[more]
