MADISON Louise C Johnson, age 93, died on September 15. 2016. She was born in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of John R. and Susan (Thresher) Clayton. She married Charles F. Johnson in 1943 who predeceased her. After earning her Master's in Social Work in 1962 from the University of Connecticut, she served on the faculty of the University of Iowa, and later the University of South Dakota, where she was Director of the Social Work Program, retiring from there as a Professor Emerita. She authored several books including "Social Work Practice: A Generalist Approach." In retirement she served on boards at First Baptist Church and Madison Campus Ministry. After moving to Oakwood Village West, she served as President of the Resident's Association and on many committees. She is survived by her brother, the Rev. Charles Clayton, and her daughter Nancy (Gil) Emmert along with grandsons, David (Sara) Emmert and Daniel (Ashley) Emmert. She leaves 4 great-grandchildren: Alexander, Zachary, Samantha, and Nathaniel Emmert. A memorial service will be held 1 pm on Monday, September 26, 2015 at First Baptist Church, 518 North Franklin Avenue, Madison, Wisconsin.
