Jillian Elaine Dickey

Jillian Elaine Dickey, 52, of New London, died September 21, 2016 at Great River Hospice House after a valiant battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease. She was born May 14, 1964 in Burlington to Virgil Arthur and Jane Lea Fuhrer Ruschill. On May 15, 1993 she married Dennis R. Dickey at Zion United Church of Christ in Burlington. She graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1982. She worked as a dog groomer at her business, Tailored Tails in Mt. Pleasant; as a vet tech for several Doctors in Southeast Iowa; as a CNA and medical aide at Prairie Ridge and Hope Haven. Jillian loved animals of all kinds and size; reading, music, decorating and collecting and selling primitive antiques. Besides her husband, Jillian is survived by her daughter Renae Lynn Dickey (Richard Parsons) of Revere, MO.; father, Virgil Ruschill, Burlington; sister, Colleen (Don) Squires of Clatskanie, Oregon; two brothers, Alan (Sue) Ruschill and Evan Ruschill, both of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her mother Jane, and grandparents. A memorial service for Jillian Dickey will be held Saturday, September 24 at Elliott Chapel in New London at 11:00 AM.
