Irene E. Nygren

Irene Elizabeth (Hendricks) Nygren was born on December 10, 1927 in Spokane, Washington, the fourth child and only daughter of Swedish immigrants. She married Del Nygren on September 1, 1951, and together they raised their four daughters. Irene was a loving wife and mother, encouraging grandmother, cheerful friend, and a faithful servant of God who joyfully used her gifts to serve Him. She skillfully played piano for worship services for over 70 years, taught junior high Sunday School and girls' club, and was a tireless champion of missionaries and God's work around the world. She passed away November 19, 2011 in Kirkland. Irene was preceded in death by her husband Del in 1988 and her brothers Carl and Clarence (Chub). She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Alan) Steier of Bismarck, ND, and Linda (Jeff) Feathers, Carol (Paul) Peterson, and Bonnie Nygren, all of Seattle, her brother Conrad, and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Alicia, Andrew, and Spencer.
