Madison - Reverend James K. McClurg, age 79 passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016. He was born on February 20, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Ralph and Anita (Knaack) McClurg. Jim graduated from Wauwatosa High School and went on to attend and graduate from Carthage College in Carthage, IL. His passions to serve the lord lead him to Maywood Lutheran Seminary which is now known as Lutheran School of Theology of Chicago (LSTC). In addition, to being a pastor and serving churches in the Kenosha and Milwaukee areas, Jim's time was also occupied by being a counselor for Lutheran Social Services for over 25 years. In his free time, he could be found jogging, playing golf or tennis and watching the Brewer and Packer games. Jim will always cherish the times spent with family and friends at their family lake home in Mercer, Wisconsin. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at OAKWOOD PRAIRIE RIDGE, TREE OF LIFE CHAPEL, 5565 Tancho Drive, Madison, on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 am with Reverend Robert Neubert and Chaplain Wayne Shannon officiating. A visitation will be held at Oakwood on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of services. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff with Agrace Hospice and Oakwood Prairie Ridge for all their love, kindness and compassion given to Jim and our family.
