STEVEN GERTH MUSCATINE, Iowa - Steven Craig Gerth, 64, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City. Please join Steve's family with a toast to Steve at Boonies on the Avenue, second floor banquet room, from 4 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016, with an official toast and sharing of stories of Steve at 4:30 p.m. Memorials may be made in care of Georgia for Evan's Education, Bag of Blessings, or the Muscatine Art Center. Steve was born on January 24, 1952, in Muscatine, the son of Gerald Ward and Joyce Edna Elliott Gerth. He graduated from Muscatine High School, class of 1970, and the University of Northern Iowa, class of 1974. He was united in marriage to Georgia Joanne Swanson Woodburn on April 10, 1997, in Muscatine. He retired from GPC and worked as an Antiques dealer. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Georgia Gerth of Muscatine; two sons, Evan Gerth of Muscatine, and Bill Woodburn of Muscatine; two honorary daughters who were very special to him, Brienne Teed of Muscatine, and Mariah Hill of Bozeman, Montana; two grandsons, Brayden Woodburn and Delaney Smith of Muscatine, and Gabe Woodburn and Aiyana Williams, of Muscatine; one great grandson, Ryker; one sister, Sherry Boyce and husband, William, of Manassas, Virginia; two nephews, William Boyce and wife, Kim, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Steven Boyce of Manassas, Virginia; one niece, J. P. Boyce of Manassas, Virginia; and his father's companion, Tamie Bice, of Beaverton, Oregon; In-laws, George and Betty Swanson of Oxford; two sister-in-laws, Nancy Swanson of Oxford, and Linda Keast and husband, Russell, of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Kevin Swanson and Mary Lou Clefisch of Middle Amana; several nieces and nephews in-laws; several Bike and Antique Friends; Stacey Swanson of Cedar Rapids; and brother-in-law, Danny Akers and wife, Vickie, of Williamsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents.
