Dennis Bartley, 65 of Malvern, IA, passed away October 28, 2016 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Bart was a Donor and cremation will take place as per his wishes. A Celebration of Life Gathering to honor Bart's life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Classic Cafe in Malvern. Memorials: Directed to the family. Dennis Dean Bartley, the younger of two sons of Clyde Floyd and Mary Frances "Mickey" (Jamett) Bartley, was born on December 12, 1950 in Malvern, Iowa. He grew up on a farm near Malvern and graduated from the Malvern Community High School with the "Class of 1969". Bart was part-owner of the J&N Fertilizer Company in Randolph, Iowa when he retired. Bart and Konnie Mason were married on September 8, 1973 in Malvern. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Darren, Alicia and Tyler. Bart was a member of the Malvern Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and coin collecting. Bart was an avid vintage car collector and enjoyed taking each of them out for a spin. nd his grandkids and would do anything for his family. Bart was an awesome papa!! He loved watching his grandkids growing up. Mason gave Bart a new reason to live and taught him so much about love and changing the whole family's way of thinking about what love really means. Bart will always be known for helping and giving to others. He definitely had a dry wit, good sense of humor, and was a good friend to all who knew him. Bart suffered a massive stroke and passed away on October 28, 2016 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 65 years, 10 months, and 15 days. He may have been a gruff ol' guy, but his decision to give the gift of life, through organ and tissue donation, will help so many in need. Bart was preceded in death by his father Clyde Bartley; his mother Mary Koonce; stepfather Ervin "Jake" Koonce; father-in-law Don Mason; and brother Darrell Bartley. Bart is survived by his wife of 43 crazy years, Konnie Bartley of Malvern; children, Darren Bartley of Kansas City, MO, Alicia Hagen and husband Brad of Malvern; and Tyler Bartley and Jamie Edwards of Malvern; three rambunctious, lovable grandchildren, Mason, Cooper and Ellie Hagen; mother-in-law LaVon Mason of Grand Island, NE; brother-in-law Scott Mason and wife Glenda of Grand Island; nephews and nieces; extended relatives; and by many, many friends.
