Georgia Wanda Cox

CHRISTIANSBURG, VA/MADISON, WI-Georgia W. Cox, age 84, died peacefully on December 31, 2016 in Middleton, Wisconsin. Georgia was born on August 25, 1932 in Mount Vernon, New York. She travelled the world when married to her husband of 34 years who served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. Georgia and her family lived in many areas of the U.S. including Hawaii, as well as Japan and England. After raising her three daughters, Georgia worked as a paralegal professional in Christiansburg, Virginia and continued her career upon moving to Wisconsin to be closer to family members. In her outdoor adventures, Georgia particularly enjoyed water based activities including boating and sailing. Throughout her life, she was active in community organizations, frequently toured unique locations, and was an avid bridge player. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, John H. Schrader and Georgia L. Roehrig Schrader, and former spouse John R. Cox. She is survived by her children, Christine Cox, Cindy (Denny) Sprague, and Cathy (Jim) Metz; and grandchildren Jason Alvarez, and Sasha, Allison and Jon Mahvi.
