Obituary for Vera S. Grissom Vera S. Grissom age 76 of Oxford, died Tuesday, January 3, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Hamilton on February 18, 1940, the daughter of Clifford and Lela (Cooke) Scarborough. She was a 1958 graduate of Ross High School. Vera married Wilmer L. Grissom on January 8, 1973 in Hamilton and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2001. She had been employed as a Merchandise Conditioner for the Kroger Co., retiring in 2012. She was raised in the German Reformed Church and most recently was a member of The Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed listening to the Zion Lutheran Church Radio Ministry, loved hiking with her husband in the Kentucky State Parks and enjoyed her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a great love for her Collie dogs, Lady and Misty. She is survived by three sons, Jeff (Regina) Keith, Nashville, Tennessee, Todd (Barb) Keith, Hamilton and Jason (Stacey) Keith, Oxford; nine grandchildren, Kyle Keith, Kate Keith, Kristine Keith, Sarah (Andrew) Coots, Lauren Keith, Heather Keith, Maggie (Ryan) Costello, Abbey Keith and Josie Keith and three great grandchildren, William and Madison Coots and Owen Costello. in death by her parents and two brothers, Clifford and Paul Scarborough. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. with Chaplain Amy Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
