ril 2, 1982, and they moved to Cocoa, Florida, where Glen opened a private practice. In 1990, Glen "Doc" had an opportunity to join the Internal Medicine Faculty of the University of Kansas Medical School at Wichita where he served as a Professor of Medicine . This gave them the opportunity to be closer to his elderly parents. He was very loved by his students and was proud that the faculty created the "Glen E Hastings, Best Clinician" award given annually in his honor. He retired in 2010. Glen was very interested in Eastern Meditation and spiritual practices. He was also a very talented carpenter and all around handyman and could fix anything. When not knocking down walls, remodeling, building things or planting flowers, he wrote poetry. In addition to all his other interest, Glen was an avid art collector and music lover. When he retired, he focused his energy into Genealogy research and traced his family tree back to William the Conqueror. Glen was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Magda; his son Richard (Junia); daughters Elizabeth (Rick) Kraus and Caroline (Shawn) Carpenter; step-daughter Magda (Pedro) Valdes; and grandchildren Cory Dymond, Danielle (AJ) Cemprola, Drew (Shannon) Hastings , Amanda Kraus, Jesse Kraus, Alexander Valdes, and Christina (Daniel) Withrow. Glen and his family would like to thank the staff of Agrace HospiceCare for the wonderful loving care he received from everyone there. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705.
