NANCY SCHIPFER WHITE 1923-2010 Nancy Schipfer White, 86, died March 10, 2010 in Port Charlotte, Florida. Mrs. White was born on March 14, 1923 in Bismarck, North Dakota. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Lloyd and Elizabeth nee Remington Schipfer. Mrs. White moved to Winnetka, Illinois with her family, attending Greeley Elementary School and New Trier High School. She married the late Robert P. White, formerly of Northbrook, Illinois who was the father of their five children. They were later divorced. Mrs. White also lived in Northfield and Glenview, Illinois where she was active in many programs including volunteer nursing for veterans; she developed a creative writing group for children through her Dusty Nook program and she also wrote a children's newspaper, the NoNameNewser, for local children. Upon moving to Manhattan Beach, California in 1984, she created the Ocean's Roar children's newspaper for which she received special recognition from several agencies for her work in support of children. was the loving mother of her sons Robert Jr. of Fresno, CA, Terrence of Fort Myers, FL, Steven Patti of Dallas and her daughter, Valerie Tom Rizzoli of Houston, TX. Her son, Jack Michelle White preceded her in death in 1995. She was the loving grandmother to nine grandchildren; Alexandra, Christine, Adam, Andrew, Danielle White; Kristin Kevin Lin; Jennifer Bryan Brush; Patrick Lauren and Cristina Rizzoli. She was great grandmother of Dylan, Gracie, and Ava Brush; Brandon and Alexander Lin; sisters Francis Beman of Evanston, IL, and Odessa Miller of Albuquerque, NM, also survive her as well as many nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be celebrated in the Winnetka Chapel, also known as the Children's Chapel on Saturday March 27th at 1pm, located at the corner of Pine and Lincoln streets, Winnetka, Il Next to the community house. Pastor David Nelson presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Children's charity of your choice in celebration of Nancy's love for children.
