Ruth Ann Carpenter

Ruth Ann Carpenter, 71, of North Port, Florida, formerly of Three Oaks, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2014 in North Port, surrounded by her children. Mrs. Carpenter was born in Michigan City, Indiana to Christine Holman on March 5, 1942. She went to school at Three Oaks High School. She married Arthur Carpenter on June 23, 1962 in Three Oaks, Michigan. Mrs. Carpenter was a full-time mother and active in the community. She and her husband ran a family restaurant, Carpenter's Restaurant and Lounge in Three Oaks for 16 years. Mrs. Carpenter continued her joy of the food service by working at Southport Square in Port Charlotte for 11 years. She was also an active member of North Port United Church of Christ where she loved to sing in the choir. She is survived by children; Walter Carpenter of Sawyer, MI; Beth Devroy of Ada, MI; Lisa Carpenter of Michigan City, IN; and John Carpenter of North Port, FL; Grandchildren; Boyd, Jesse and Miles Edson of Michigan City, IN; David, Scott, Daniel and Maria Devroy of Ada, MI.
