Anthony S. Serratore
Anthony "Buster" Serratore, age 84 of Fort Washington, PA, died very peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on Maple Avenue in Ambler, PA., he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Rose (nee Petro) Serratore. Tony was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Barbara (nee Muth) in 2010. Tony was an Ambler High School graduate, Class of 1950. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked as an insurance salesman until his retirement in 1995. Tony brightened the life of everyone he ever met and was a friend to all. He was a member of the L.R.B. Sons of Italy Lodge 543 and the Daniel W. Dowling American Legion Post 769 in Ambler. He enjoyed playing golf and cards. He treasured his family and friends and truly believed in spreading joy throughout his life with laughter and love. Tony is the devoted father of Christopher Serratore and his wife Lisa, of Fort Washington; and Linda Sue Williams and her husband Will, of Doylestown. He was predeceased by a son, Charles G. Wilson. Jack, Kierstan, Nicole, Olivia, Lex and Austin, and the great-great-grandfather of Boudie. Tony is survived by his brother Leonard Serratore of King of Prussia, and was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters George, Louis, John, Frank, Grace Weygand Bocchino and Madeline Ziegler. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday February 11, 2017 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA 19002-5803. Tony's Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, Tony's family would appreciate donations in his memory for a memorial at Pickering Field in Ambler. Checks should be made payable to the Urban Funeral Home at the address above with a memo noting Tony's Memorial. In addition, the family encourages the sharing of favorite stories and photos of Tony.
