Brian S. Lessner
Stoughton- Brian Scott Lessner, age 55, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2017 after a brave 10 month battle with cancer. Brian was born on November 14, 1961 to Thom and Darlene Lessner. He graduated from LaFollette High School and went on to serve in the Marine Corps. Brian was a proud alum of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. In his professional life, Brian worked in the construction field where he owned and operated B&L Drywall. Away from work, he enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and cheering on both Badger and Packer football teams. Brian's greatest love however was spending time with his family, especially his fiancé Shelly (Gust) Billings. His brothers and sisters at the Stoughton Clubhouse also held a very special place in his heart. Brian is survived by his parents; his fiancé; his children, Trevor, Morgan and Cameron; his granddaughter, Harper (who lovingly called him "Poppa"); sister, Tina McCann; brother, Brady Lessner; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Evelyn and Reynold Lessner, Marilyn and Bill Wilburg, and Alvin and Pauline Kalhagen; aunt, Lavon Lessner; cousin, Vicki Schweiger; and nephew, Cory McCann. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with Msgr. Gerard Healy officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following, at the Stoughton American Legion. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare Inc., Stoughton AA, or to the charity of the donors choice.
