Harold Lawrence Prentice, 71, of Seymour, IN passed away at home on February 13, 2017 surrounded by his family. Military graveside service will be held at Veterans Cemetery at 1:30 p.m., on Friday February 17, 2017 in Madison, IN. (1415 North Gate Road). A Celebration of Life service will follow at Tampico Christian church from 3pm-7pm. Arrangements is being handled by Voss & Sons Funeral Service. Harold was born in Winchedon, MA on December 1, 1945 to Harold and Frances (Minkler) Prentice who preceded him in death. He enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17 and became a SeaBee serving 3 tours in Vietnam where he received a purple heart. He was honored to serve his country and continued his service as an Honor Guard with the VFW Post 1925. Harold was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping and traveling with his family. Of all his accomplishments he was most proud of his family and the times they shared together. Harold was married to Juanita F. (Kathy) MacDonald; his grandchildren Brennan (Tyler) Williams and Breighan Banks; Wayne and Brad Bott; Damien Rude and Wynonna (Brandyn) Sullivan, Nate and Thomas Chew; Kyle, Cassidy and Kegan Prentice; Trevor, Abby, Nicole, Hannah and Zachary Thompson; and Jacob and Emily Zink; great grandchildren Lillian and Gunnar Williams; and Zane and Rylan Sutton. Harold is also survived by his sister Beverly "Debbie" Paul and several nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his brother Alvin "Sam" Prentice and two sister Anna Davidson and Clara Harris.
