Kathryn Lois "Kay" Anderson, 86, of Burlington, died Friday, February 17, 2017 at her home. Born March 28, 1930, in Cairo, Iowa she was the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Brown) Calhoon. She married Leland Rogers, he died June 15, 1954, she then married Albert "Andy" Anderson, he died October 19, 2008. Mrs. Anderson was the co-owner and bookkeeper for Air Exec Inc. and Clark Aircraft Repair in Keokuk and was the Assistant Manager for the Fort Madison Airport. She continued working as a housekeeper for Henry County Health Center and Burlington Medical Center and Great River Medical Center, finally retiring at the age of 82. She was of the Christian faith. Kay was a very active volunteer with Great River Hospice, and enjoyed square dancing, watching the Joey & Rory Show, Murder She Wrote, and Little House on the Prairie. Kay and Andy loved traveling and flew everywhere they went, they attended several car shows together to show off their 1940 Buick. Kay would dress for the car shows in era clothing. Survivors include two sons, James Rogers and Gerald "Jerry" Rogers both of Burlington; one daughter, Janet (Ken) Mattson of Burlington; five grandchildren, Kenny (Kristie) Mattson, Scott Mattson, Quentin Rogers, and Ryan Jacob Rogers all of Burlington and Brianna Rogers of St. Louis; four great grandchildren, Katarina Rogers, Garret Rogers, Faith Lyn Grace Mattson and Sammy Jo Stewart; one great-great grandson, Jaxson Husser; two sisters, Patricia (Charles) Stansbarry of Ames and Marjorie (Edward) Titus of Burlington and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and one sister Betty Jean Kirgan. The memorial funeral service for Mrs. Anderson will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 22nd at Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Dean Graber will officiate. Inurnment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
